Both the 'Tax Relief Act of 2010' as well as the 'Jobs Act of 2010' that passed in late 2010 affected Section 179 in a positive way for this 2011 tax year. The updated Section 179 Deduction has been significantly enhanced - giving businesses an incentive to invest in themselves by purchasing, financing or leasing new equipment.

Alternative Fuel Incentive Deadline

On December 17th 2010, President Obama signed the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Authorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. This legislation contains many favorable provisions that apply to both individuals and businesses within the propane industry such as the propane fuel tax credit.

Take Advantage Of Bonus Depreciation

The 'Economic Stimulus Act of 2008' generously increased the limits of the Section 179 Deduction and also added a one-time "Bonus Depreciation" on equipment that exceeded the deduction limit. Since then, four more stimulus acts have extended and enhanced these tax incentives.
